RESOLUTION NO. 9, 2005

A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A Mission Statement and 2006 Goals for the Association.

WHEREAS: The Board of Directors desires to adopt a mission statement and goals for 2006 to guide its policies and activities with respect to broad areas of concern.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE VAIL VILLAGE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION:

1.  Approves as its mission statement to guide its activities:

It is the mission of the Vail Village Homeowners Association to advocate policies that maintain, improve and further the viability of Vail as a premier destination mountain resort community.  In order to pursue this mission we will work with the constituencies in the community and seek to facilitate increased communication and cooperation to sustain the character of Vail that attracted our members.

2.  Approves as its goals for 2006:

1. Assist the completion of agreements necessary for the development of elements of the Vail Front Door project, and improvements to the loading and delivery system in Vail Village, the revitalization of Lionshead and other appropriate areas of the community.

2. Oversight of various processes to implement covenant protections, amendments or changes to operational agreements, master plans and growth regulations, including development and management plans for redevelopment projects.

3. Facilitate financially responsible infrastructure, streetscape, and other public, organizational, or philanthropic improvements.

4. Communicate the contribution of membership, second homeowners, and improving relationships with the local community, Town Council, and Vail Resorts.            

5. Assist our membership to protect property values and preserve the residential qualities of established neighborhoods.

6. Pursue the enfranchisement of non-resident property owners. 

7. Work for the preservation and protection of open space, park and stream tract lands.

8. Assist Vail to become more “customer friendly” and encourage needed facilities to attract more destination visitors.

9. Increase membership.

C:      In order to pursue this mission the Association will work with the constituencies in the community and seek to facilitate increased communication and cooperation to sustain and enhance the character of Vail that attract our members.
