CALL TO ACTION
Extremely Important Town Council Public Hearing.
6 pm, Tuesday, August 3, 2021
The
TOV Town Council has resumed in-person meetings.
This is an important public hearing concerning the potential
overturning by the Town Council of a rejection by the Design
Review Board of the architectural character of the Town of
Vail’s proposed Residence at Main Vail. The DRB says that
the design of the project does not present an image compatible
with the main tourism access to the Vail Town Center.
In-person appearance at the Town Council meeting is an important
statement of your concern about how the Town of Vail is
conducting its resident housing program in a manner that is
undermining the design standards of the community.
Double standards for Town owned projects are a threat to the
aesthetic principles embraced and highly valued by the
community.

Send letters of concern to the

Extremely Important Town Council Public Hearings,
July 21 & August 4
On these dates there will
be important public hearings concerning protection of the
bighorn sheep and preservation of TOV open space. Both meetings
will begin at 6 p.m. and while COVID-19 rules will be in place,
you will be able to appear before the Council and make your
views and opinions known. This is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT because
the Council does respond to public input.
VHA Editor’s Note - 07/16/20.
Based on the record as it existed at the time, we incorrectly
identified the Vail Local Housing Authority as the proponent of
the Alternative Housing Sites Initiative. Since then we
have learned that the Initiative is the work product of the Town
Council. That was not apparent earlier since the Town
Council’s work was done in executive session.

VHA 2011 Election Report

Robert
W. Galvin
1922 - 2011
It
is with great regret that the Vail Homeowners Association
informs our membership and the Vail community on the passing of
our founding President, Robert W. Galvin.
Bob Galvin was
responsible for the founding of the Vail Homeowners Association
in 1991. He served as its President for its first decade.
His legacy can be
seen in the emergence of the Vail Renaissance, which his
extraordinary vision of Vail’s future helped inspire and
nurture. Bob dearly loved the Vail community, its
wonderful mountain and the people who collaborate to make it
what it has and will become.
Our heart felt
condolences to his wife Mary and family.
